A NEW ERA OF BIOBASED MATERIALS
LEBIU is a range of materials made out cork stopper’s waste from the island of Sardinia. We care about the environment, that’s why our commitment is to provide materials in line with human and environmental needs.
Respecting the times of nature, we contribute to reduce CO2 emissions and reuse waste from the cork industry, reintroducing it in the production cycle. Creating a new bio-material for garments, shoes, accessories, and furniture.

Lebiu is the outcome of 10-year research and development project. During his university years, Fabio Molinas began to investigate the properties of cork waste as a component to create a sustainable alternative to animal leather.
The turning point in 2019, when the project was selected by the European Commission in a program for Creative Industries with the aim of reducing the environmental impact of the textile industry.
In the same year Alessandro Sestini joins the project as co-founder and CEO of the brand, working together with Fabio Molinas in industrial innovation projects
