LEBIU Means “lightness” in the Sardinian language and refers to the natural property of cork, whose characteristics allow the creation of a new generation material coming from upcycling processes, where a residue is transformed into a resource, creating a value chain that passes from tree to the consumer.

Our mission is to provide latest generation materials where quality, creativity, and low environmental impact can redefine the concept of luxury, through a sustainability perspective.

Thanks to the bio-based ingredients and the high percentage of cork, an ecological material made in Italy is obtained for the fashion, interior, product and packaging sectors.

Our Story

2000

The Origins

Fabio Molinas occasionally helps his grandfather in his small cork production factory, using cork scraps to create small artistic artifacts such as sculptures, panels, and household items.

2012

Leather for Vegetarian

During the Product Innovation master's program, Fabio Molinas starts experimenting with new materials using cork powder and natural resins, giving birth to "Leather for Vegetarians," the first prototype created with a household oven and food-grade adhesives.

2020

Lebiu SRL

After years of research and development, Leather for Vegetarians becomes CORSKIN™, a product under the LEBIU brand, an innovative startup focused on conceiving Next-Gen materials made from plant-based resins and production scraps. Alessandro Sestini joins the team as CEO.

2023

On Market

LEBIU launches CORSKIN™ and NANOCORK™, the first cork-based materials originating from Sardinia, onto the market.
